Typhoon Morakot

This picture is the typhoon Morakot and the houses are ruined because of that typhoon. And I think it happened because it started from the mountains and it rained so much and the land soaked the water and it became slippery and the land started to slide down. It killed a lot of people and it also ruined their houses like the picture shown here. It also knocked down some buildings and some of them also floated. Because Taiwan is really close to the equator like Japan. Japan got the Morakot because it's close to the equator like these places might get the Morakot Korea, Philippine, Taiwan and Japan. So to protect our country each individual should take a good care of our enviroment by growing some trees.

Nadia, you've got a great graphic and some good words appropriate to the picture. What I was hoping for was more direct response to our learning goals. 1) how the environment itself contributes to disasters, and 2) how people living in the environment can impact the amount of damage is done. We will do more of this study this semester through our mapping unit.
